It may sound like a tall tale, but thanks to a book that refers to both a funfair goldfish and a mattress in its title, Macmillan Cancer Support has received thousands of pounds in donations.

Written by Rotherham-based businessman, John Harrison, “The money making magic of a funfair goldfish, and other get rich secrets of a mattress-bound millionaire” was launched originally in 2005 but in January 2006 it was decided that copies would be given away in exchange for a donation to the Macmillian charity.  To date over 500 donations have been made raising a total of £6,769.59.

“The aim of the book is to provide people with the inspiration to break away from the shackles of a nine to five existence and grasp the many easy and legal money-making schemes that are actually out there,” said John Harrison, the author and co-founder of Streetwise Publications.

“For example did you know that simply by selling information you may already know, but not understand its significance, you could create a regular income source,” he continued.
